Meet Your Guides
Wholehearted living is about showing up authenticity, finding courage through vulnerability and cultivating a sense of belonging, according to author Brené Brown. Our retreat explores these topics conceptually and experientially through embodied practices and yogic principles. Dare to find a truer, deeper connection to yourself and others. Personal growth and soul-care are part of the experience with thoughtful workshops by Psychologist Karen Anderson, MS, LMFT, and daily yoga with Yoga Therapist Amanda Trevelino, CIAYT, ERYT500,

Amanda is a yoga therapist and practitioner within the Kripalu and Pranakriya yoga lineage, RYT-500, C-IAYT. She guides yoga on and off the mat with a sense of curiosity and adventure, and feels most closely connected to Oneness through nature. For Amanda, the yogic system and practical philosophy has been a path of personal healing, regulation and ongoing learning that she feels called to share with others.
She guides students on their path of self-discovery, somatic awareness and inner authority. Amanda is passionate about ancient wisdom traditions including Helenistic Astrology. She loves to travel and has hosted self-discovery retreats in the US, Nepal, Greece and Costa Rica. She first visited the Osa as a volunteer in 2012, and now resides part time in Nosara, Costa Rica. She credits Nosara Yoga Institute for introducing her to the magic of “Self-Awakening Yoga,” Nidra and high-prana yoga in the jungle.

From over-responsibility to clean, kind choices.
When we stop managing what isn’t ours and return to what is, boundaries shift from defense to love. This session is a practical primer on living that shift in real time: understanding what a boundary actually is, meeting challenging emotions as they arise, loosening resentment’s grip, and learning to feel a clear yes in your body. Through guided reflection, simple nervous-system practices, and grounded conversation, you’ll notice the protective strategies that once kept you safe yet disconnected—and practice kinder, clearer ways of showing up for yourself and your relationships.
You’ll:
Explore where you’re over-managing others—and what opens when you stop.
Identify what’s truly yours to tend (and what isn’t) with a simple “mine/not mine” check.
Work with challenging emotions in the moment using brief, body-based resets.
Practice boundary language that is clear, brief, and kind—no speeches, no apologies.
Inspired by evidence-based boundary frameworks and nervous-system research. Coaching/education, not therapy.
-
Hold your choice with warmth, steadiness, and self-respect.
When boundaries are set, the real work begins: staying with yourself. This session is a guided return to presence—where self-compassion isn’t a concept but a felt experience in your body. We’ll practice gentle, body-based tools (supportive touch, kinder inner language, and the reminder that you’re not alone) to signal safety to the nervous system. Why this matters: self-compassion interrupts the shame–stress loop that drives over-functioning and self-abandonment. As your system downshifts, choice widens—you can hold a boundary without hardening, and say yes or no from steadiness, not urgency.
Engage in gentle, body-based practices to feel safety and steadiness, then reflect on what shifts for you.
Experiment with clear, kind boundary language and consider what makes it easier—or harder—to stay with yourself.
Explore a simple check-in for “threat vs. ease,” followed by an inquiry about where your yes/no shows up.
Build a personal soothing menu and journal about what truly nourishes vs. what numbs.
Inspired by evidence-based boundary frameworks and nervous-system research. Coaching/education, not therapy.
