Lefkada Island once was known as Ithaca, fabled home of Odysseus; today it is a sparkling gem in the Ionian Sea full of history and unique culture. It boasts some of the world’s most beautiful blue beaches as well as ancient villages and dreamy waterfalls.

Using the inspiration of the Odyssey and its Mythic Archetypes, we’ll explore our own personal Mythos while diving into mindful movement (Flow yoga, Yin, Nidra) and Guided Journaling for self-discovery.

“Mythos” takes place at a true retreat setting: a selection of private, cliffside villas exclusive to our guests.

Amanda Trevelino | Host

As student of the Kripalu yoga lineage, my teacher, Yoganand Michael Carroll, was a storyteller. He used myth and metaphor to share yogic philosophy and embodied learning. His descriptions of characters in the Bhagavad Gita, brought yoga to life for me; then taught me that all life is yoga.

I embrace various forms of yoga as personal inquiry, and I strive to create judgment-free environments for Self-awakening. In 2016, I founded Santosha Studio to offer the community a collaborative sanctuary for meaningful practice with an emphasis on uplifting the sacred feminine. Conscious travel expands that vision, broadening explorations of Self — physically, mentally and spiritually — as well as building life-long connections. As Anaïs Nin teaches, “we don’t see the world as it is, we see it as we are.”

Nothing makes me happier than inspiring people on a journey of expanding consciousness. As we travel together, we experience ourselves and our personal stories in entirely new ways.

Each three-bedroom villa offers a tranquil setting for yoga overlooking the Ionian Sea. Our retreat guests will experience an authentic destination exclusive to us with a hike down to the protected beach of Ammoudi bordered by iconic white cliffs.

The story of this place goes back to 1920 when our grandfather farmed these lands with grapes, olive trees and few animals. Despite the harsh conditions of that age, locals never lost hope and passion to make it a better place. Since 2007, we share this beloved space with the same passion and dedication.

The Ammoudi exclusive beach belongs to the environmental protection network Nature 2000, because it is a habitat for dolphins and seals. It is a completely private, low-to-zero people location and can be accessed only through our property or via a boat. The beach is covered with small white pebbles and bits of sand. The crystal blue and turquoise waters will blow your mind.

 FAQs

  • Guests are responsible for air travel to and from Aktion airport in Preveza. As far as excursions, guests will have the choice to opt in at a cost to be determined for certain experiences that are not part of the package: massage, kayaking, island tour, herbal tour. Travel insurance should be purchased at the time of your deposit.

  • After your $500 deposit, the remaining balance is due in full by July 15.

  • Several airlines fly from the US to London Heathrow [LHR] non-stop or with a single stop [shorter flight than direct to Athens]. From Heathrow, British Airways offers two [non-stop] flights to Preveza — BA0692 arriving 2:40 pm [shuttle provided] or BA674 arriving 4:30 pm [shuttle is guest responsibility] A 90-minute car or shuttle will get you to the Villas in time for the Welcome Circle. A second option is to fly direct to Athens and arrange a 5-hr shuttle to the Villas.

  • Travel insurance is highly recommended, particularly given that all sales are final once deposit has been submitted. We suggest AllianzTravel but there are a number of insurance companies. Costs will likely range from $125-$250.

  • Because Santosha is required to book the resort property in advance, there is no cancellation option. All payments are final; however payments are transferrable to a friend or family member. Also. we do recommend travel insurance should something change that requires you to cancel.

  • Taxi: 95 EUR (without receipt) plus 24% VAT b. Mini van for up to 20 people: 180 EUR plus 24% VAT or 223 EUR.
